LUBBOCK – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct the 2015 Commercial Turf and Ornamental Workshop from 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Jan. 22 at the Science Spectrum and Omni Theater, 2579 S. Loop 289 in Lubbock.
“The presentations will target those holding structural and/or commercial Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide applicators licenses, but the information will be beneficial to anyone interested in turf and ornamental plant management on the South Plains,” said Vikram Baliga, AgriLife Extension horticulturist at Lubbock.
He said the workshop will offer five Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide applicator continuing education units and four of the regulatory agency’s structural units, pending authorization.
Topics to be covered will include landscape weed and pest management, turfgrass species selection, pesticide laws and regulations, management of urban tree pests and diseases, and common landscape diseases.
Individual registration is $35 due by 5 p.m. Jan. 20, or $45 at the door. The fee includes lunch.
