CANADIAN – The Hemphill County Mini Ag Conference will be Sept. 1 in the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Exhibition Center, 10865 Exhibition Center Road, Canadian.
This conference will feature topics on hot button issues regarding groundwater rights, surface rights and changes, condemnation of land for transmission lines, and the implications of low energy prices for surface, mineral and royalty owners, said Andy Holloway, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent in Hemphill County.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. followed by the program at 10 a.m.
Guest speakers will be Amarillo attorneys Joe Lovell and Brian Farabough, with Lovell, Lovell, Newson and Isern law firm.
A noon lunch will be sponsored by Canadian InterBank and catered by The Cattle Exchange.
After lunch, Nicholas Fenner, National Weather Service meteorologist in Amarillo, will discuss the future of El Nino, Fall through Spring and beyond for Hemphill County and the surrounding counties.
The fee is $20, and those planning to attend should RSVP to 806-323-9114 by Aug. 28.
Hosting the event are the AgriLife Extension offices in Hemphill, Ochiltree, Lipscomb and Roberts counties. Sponsors include Panhandle Plains Land Bank and AG Texas.
