While it’s a new position for Hicks, she has been an office manager and program assistant in the Potter County office for the past seven years, said Brandon Dukes, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Amarillo.

She will begin her new position Sept. 1.

“Tina already has a wealth of knowledge about the 4-H program in Potter County, and she will be able to begin building on what is in place immediately,” Dukes said. “We are fortunate to have her take on this new position.”

Hicks, a native of Vega, earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin and has started working on her master’s degree in family and consumer science education at Texas Tech University.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to work with the youth of Potter County while making a difference in their lives,” Hicks said.

“I feel that there are great opportunities available for our youth, which will be fulfilled by expanding our program into the schools and offering more programing such as robotics, dog projects, public speaking and leadership building skills.”
