AgriLife Extension names Kim Miles to Jones County family and consumer sciences post

ANSON – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has named Kim Miles to the family and consumer sciences agent post in Jones County effective Feb. 1.

The announcement was made by Jones County Judge Dale Spurgin and Marty Gibbs, AgriLife Extension’s West Central District administrator at San Angelo.

“Kim is transferring from the AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences position in Brown County, that’s also within our 23-county district,” Gibbs said. “She has led successful youth and adult programs there focusing on health, safety and family and community development. I am sure she will use her top programming skills to carry on and further expand the strong AgriLife Extension tradition the people of Jones County have come to expect.”

Miles earned a master’s degree from Texas Woman’s University at Denton and a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University at Stephenville.

She began her AgriLife Extension career in 1997 as an AgriLife Extension agent for 4-H and youth development in McLennan County. She then took a family and consumer sciences position in Comanche County in 2008, a post she held until transferring to Brown County in 2010.

Miles fills the position formerly held by Debbie Hailey, who retired last August.
