MARFA – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will conduct a Community Horticulture Update from 8 a.m.-12:30 p.m. March 2 in the Paisano Hotel Ballroom in Marfa.
The hotel is located at 207 N. Highland Ave.
“We have three top speakers for this event,” said Jesse Lea Schneider, AgriLife Extension agent in Presidio County.
“Our speakers are Denise Rodriquez, AgriLife Extension horticulturist in El Paso County, and Alyson McDonald, AgriLife Extension range specialist in Fort Stockton. Also joining us is Mark Foster from Alpine, who is a gardener extraordinaire when it comes to growing anything in our area. Make plans to attend so you’ll be able to tune-up your gardening skills and catch up on the latest gardening information just in time for spring.”
Rodriquez will speak on EarthKind water and energy conservation; landscape and edibles; roses; and vermicomposting.
McDonald’s topic is “What’s in a Mulch?,” and Foster will discuss determinate versus indeterminate tomatoes.
Registration is $10 due upon arrival.
