MAPLE – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service office in Bailey County will conduct a cotton field day beginning at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at the Chris Locke Farm north of Maple.
The farm is located 4 miles north of the Maple Gin on Farm-to-Market Road 1731, turn west at the County Barn on County Road 91 for 2 miles then turn north on County Road 61 for a half mile to the field on the right.
“We will be touring a cotton replicated agronomic cotton evaluation, or R.A.C.E. trial, “ said Curtis Preston, AgriLife Extension agent in Bailey County. “Our speakers will be AgriLife Extension personnel and seed company representatives who will be presenting information about the trial.”
There will be no charge and two Texas Department of Agriculture continuing education units will be offered.
