SAN ANGELO – The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer an Earth-Kind Landscape Design School in coming weeks at San Angelo.
The school will be 6-9 p.m. March 19, 20, 26 and 27 at the Tom Green 4-H Center, 3168 N. U.S. Highway 67, San Angelo. Registration is $60 per household for the entire course. For more information and to RSVP by March 14, call Allison Watkins, AgriLife Extension horticulture agent in Tom Green County at 325-659-6528.
“Our goal is to help homeowners get ready for spring and on track with a healthy, good-looking landscape that can thrive in West Texas,” Watkins said.
The school consists of four distinct classes, plus a separate 30-minute private landscape consultation to assist participants with design and plant material questions, Watkins said.
Watkins will teach the first two classes and Dr. Steve George, AgriLife Extension horticulture specialist in Dallas, will conduct the design portion of the school during the last two sessions.
“This course is open to all West Texas homeowners, so this is an open invitation to join us to learn about lawn and tree care, plant selection, soil management and water conservation-as well as basic landscape design techniques,” Watkins said. “The landscape portion will be helpful for both those with new home sites and those wishing to improve existing landscapes.”
