Coffee class offered in College Station to learn more about morning cup of joe

COLLEGE STATION — The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and the Center for Coffee Research will be hosting a two-day coffee class April 5-6 to teach participants coffee skills and the economic importance of coffee.

The program will begin at 9 a.m. with three sessions each day in the Horticulture/Forest Science Building, or HFSB, Room 114 and 432, 495 Horticulture Road, College Station.

The course starts with coffee history and includes topics such as:

• Coffee production and consumption throughout the world.
• Coffee varieties, production, processing, roasting and cupping.

The course also includes the opportunity for hands-on learning related to the basics of roasting coffee and elaboration of coffee profiles.

Metered parking is available near the building, and those with a Texas A&M parking pass will have access to lot 100.
