SAN ANGELO — London Jones has joined Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service as a family and community health agent for Burnet County.

“London will make a great addition to the Burnet County AgriLife Extension staff, with a strong academic background in nutrition and experience as a student intern,” said Marty Gibbs, District 7 AgriLife Extension administrator, San Angelo. “She also brings her experiences as a 4-H member in Erath County as well as a summer staff member at the Texas 4-H Center in Brownwood. We are excited to have her join the AgriLife team in Burnet County and District 7.”

Jones graduated from Tarleton State University with a bachelor’s of science in food, nutrition and meat. She previously worked as an AgriLife Extension family and community health intern for Brown County. While there, she conducted Better Living for Texans educational programs for both youth and adults.

Jones also interned in Tarleton’s food and nutrition department, where she assisted in planning and coordinating community events, which included Dinner Tonight, Better Breathers and Ag Awareness Day.

Jones said working at the 4-H Conference Center confirmed that she wanted a career that would allow her to be a positive influence on youth.

“I grew up in 4-H and around AgriLife Extension,” said Jones. “I loved the hands-on activities and how much I learned by doing. My county agents inspired my desire to pursue this profession. I hope I can make a positive impact on others like they have for me. I am so happy that I have this job and the opportunity to serve our local youth and community.”
