Registration open for Wild Kids Camp June 20-23 in Fredericksburg

Space limited, open to incoming third through fifth graders

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will present the Wild Kids Camp June 20-23 in Fredericksburg.

The four-day camp is open to incoming third through fifth graders. It will be held from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. each day, with drop off starting at 7:45 a.m.

The camp will be held at the AgriLife Extension office in Gillespie County at 38 Business Court.

The cost is $80 and limited to the first 20 registrants. Register at https://tx.ag/WKCJun20.

Registration by June 1 will include a camp T-shirt. Daily lunch and snacks will be included.

Wild about nature

“Wild Kids Camp will be full of hands-on learning activities as we learn about migratory birds, bats, soil and plants, pollinators and more,” said Emily Grant, AgriLife Extension agriculture and natural resources agent for Gillespie County.

Youth will create something they can bring home each day, Grant said. AgriLife Extension specialists from across the state will also share their expertise and experiences through virtual presentations, and there will be a few virtual field trips as well.

“This is a unique opportunity for kids to learn more about the natural world, the wonderful wildlife we have in Texas and their role in our ecosystem,” Grant said.
