The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will present the School Garden Workshop on Aug. 4 in Georgetown.
The event is presented by the AgriLife Extension office in Williamson County at 100 Wilco Way, Room HR105. It will take place from 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

The cost is $25 and includes lunch. Register for the workshop at https://tx.ag/WilcoEvents. Curricula may be purchased through the registration link for an additional cost.
The workshop is designed for elementary school teachers, afterschool program coordinators, and volunteers or camp leaders who want to teach more plant science and environmental science and/or implement a school garden project.
School Garden Workshop curricula
The School Garden Workshop will focus on two curricula: Junior Master Gardener and Learn, Grow, Eat and Go!
“Both programs utilize hands-on gardening activities to teach math, environmental science, leadership and community service,” said program coordinator Kate Whitney, AgriLife Extension horticulturist for Williamson County.
Workshop attendees will learn gardening basics from Texas Master Gardeners as well as network with local businesses and organizations to support school gardens and learn how AgriLife Extension can support youth gardening projects, she said.
For more information on the training, contact Whitney at 512-943-3300.
