The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will offer a home canning workshop on Oct. 13 in Georgetown.

The workshop will be from 1-4 p.m. in the training room of the AgriLife Extension office in Williamson County, 100 Wilco Way, AG 205. Registration is required and is limited to the first 15 people. Registration is $30 and can be done at https://tx.ag/WilliamsonHomeCanning.

Workshop geared toward all types of canners
The workshop is for anyone interested in learning more or for those who need a refresher in pressure canning.
Participants will be able to learn to preserve their food using canning equipment safely and properly, Sindac said.
“This workshop is ideal for anyone who is brand new to canning or needs a refresher in pressure canning,” Sindac said. “We provide all the equipment to help them properly prepare, raw pack and process their own jar of green beans to take home and enjoy.”

- Types of canning methods.
- Pressure canning steps.
- Equipment.
- Canning safety.
