THROCKMORTON – Kyle Youngblood has been hired as the new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service agriculture and natural resources agent for Throckmorton County, according to Miles Dabovich, AgriLife Extension district administrator in Vernon.

“We are pleased to bring Kyle to the District 3 team,” Dabovich said. “His agriculture background and familiarity with the area will be a benefit to the local program.”
Youngblood is a native of Elbert and earned his bachelor’s degree in agriculture sciences from Angelo State University in San Angelo.
Leaving his position as foreman on his family’s McCarson Youngblood Ranch in Elbert to take on the new position, he said, “I want to be able to use my degree and knowledge of farming, ranching and 4-H with the people in my home county.”
While on the ranch, Youngblood oversaw the cow/calf operation and wheat crop, and implemented crop rotations to maximize the ranch’s production.
“I would like to focus on more community involvement and provide more visibility to the various projects we do that might be of interest to area residents,” Youngblood said.
Prior to joining the family ranch, he worked for almost seven years with the Lower Colorado River Authority, first as an operator in the Sim Gideon Power Plant at Bastrop and then as a public relations representative in San Angelo.
