COLLEGE STATION – Dr. Wayne Hayenga, Texas Cooperative Extension lawyer specializing in farm and ranch real estate planning, has received the Southern Agricultural Economics Association Lifetime Achievement Award.
Hayenga, who has been with the Texas A&M University System for 32 years, develops Extension educational programming in income tax and estate planning, as well as financial management. He holds workshops across the state each year to help educate individuals on the latest in estate and financial planning.
The Southern Agricultural Economics Association recognizes a member annually for lifetime professional contributions.
Hayenga earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural economics from the University of Illinois. Additionally, he received a master’s degree in business administration in finance and Ph.D. in agricultural economics from Michigan State University. He also has a judicial degree in law from Southern Methodist University.
