The program will cover the basics of drying vegetables, fruits and herbs, said Sonia Coyle, AgriLife Extension family and consumer sciences agent for Travis County. It will be taught by Dr. Jenna Anding, AgriLife Extension specialist, College Station.

Refreshments will be served and participants will receive a Ball guide to preserving.

“The workshop is open to adults and youth and will provide a thorough introduction to the basics of home food preservation,” Coyle said.

She said home food preservation is an excellent way to maintain the freshness and nutritional value of homegrown fruits and vegetables.

Cost is $40 per person and class size will be limited to 30 individuals.

The deadline for registration is Sept. 24. To register online, go to https://agriliferegister.tamu.edu. To register by phone, call 979-845-2604.
